Judges and Volunteers
Every year it takes an army of volunteers and judges to carry off the state competition. We have a wonderful time providing this opportunity to Kansas students. All judges must be 18 years or older. If you are interested in judging or volunteering, us the form below and a Kansas official will contact you.
Problem Judge - Judges how well teams have succeeded in meeting the criteria of each problem. A scoring guide for each problem is provided. (2 judges per problem)
Style Judge - A style judge evaluates how well teams have succeeded in firing up the creativity in the problem. There are two required style elements, two team determined elements, and the overall creativity of the problem solution. A scoring rubric is provided. (2 judges per problem)
Spontaneous Judges - Spontaneous problems are quick thinking problems that require team work and creativity to solve. Again, a scoring guide is provided and judges work in pairs.
Volunteers - Help is needed in the score room, pin and t-shirt sales, and at the registration and score tables. Timekeepers, doorkeepers, and runners are also required.
